December is here in a few days - which means even more Christmas-sy mood than already all around! 
 
I hope you all are up for it - event if you do not celebrate Christmas. REMEMBER you are still welcome at everything, e.g. the Christmas Party on the 7th is as much an event celebrating community! 
 
It also means that 2025 is coming to an end - finishing off with the holiday season! Also included at the end of this issue, is an overview to remember what close down during Chrismas and New Year!  
 
NOTE; January's issues is not out until the first weeks of 2026!

Christmas Party at Spinderihallerne - December 7th

 

Spinderihallerne’s Christmas Party invites everyone to enjoy an afternoon full of festive spirit, togetherness, and community. 

This special day offers something for all ages. You can unleash your creativity in free fun workshops, share cozy moments with other visitors, and experience Spinderihallerne as a place where people meet, get inspired, and create memories together. 

Seasonal treats such as warm spiced gløgg and traditional Danish æbleskiver (round pancake balls) will fill the house with the scent of Christmas. And of course, Santa Claus himself will stop by to spread some extra Christmas cheer.

Curious Minds - December 9th

 
Join Curious Minds #4 on December 9th at 18.30/6.30pm in Spinderihallerne! 
 
✨ Are you a creative, innovator, or simply a curious person who enjoys meeting new people and hearing interesting stories and ideas?  
 
At our last event, we explored topics ranging from women's circles to modularity in design and toy design. Our speakers shared personal experiences and even showed some of their prototypes. Our next event is already in the works and you can count on more thought-provoking talks!  
 
And of course, there will be time to mingle with fellow curious people over a beer and snacks. 🍻

December 9th at 6.30-8.00pm there will be a pop up clothes swap together with ReFashion Vejle and Spinderihallerne.
 
We are swapping good clothes and there will be something to drink. See you there?

Ice Sculpture Festival - December 13th

 

Join the Ice Sculpture Festival in Give on December 13th.

From 10am to 3pm, nine talented artists will transform blocks of ice into stunning sculptures, and you’re invited to follow the creative process up close. Throughout the day, the town streets will be filled with music, theatre, face painting, and a variety of activities and competitions for both children and adults.

You can enjoy mulled wine (gløgg), æbleskiver, klejner, roasted almonds, and other seasonal treats—while all activities during the event remain free to participate in.

Besides watching the professional sculptors at work, children will have the chance to carve their own small ice sculptures. Adults can also try their hand at ice carving, where hidden gold coins can be found, and a gift card worth DKK 1,000 will be raffled off among the participants.

This year’s artists come from across the globe, representing Denmark, Germany, Iraq, Russia, and Canada.

Artist Talk with Neil Tye - December 11th

 
Spinderihallerne invites you to an Artist Talk with British artist Neil Tye in conversation with curator Sara Staunsager.

With the exhibition Piercing through the layers of life, Tye explores how we are drawn to light and movement through colors and lines.

The Artist Talk will be in Danish and English.

Christmas at the Vejle Museums

 
Magical December days at Vejle Museums for the whole family! 

In December, Vejle Museums invites you inside for a series of cozy, sensory, and imaginative Christmas experiences. The whole family can join in!

From November 29, Vejle Art Museum's Christmas trees will be transformed into whimsical zoophytes, created by the artist group en hemmelig klub (a secret club).
 
Throughout December, you can follow the transformation, decorate the trees, and make your own imaginative Christmas decorations.

Kongernes Jelling - Home of the Viking Kings

- open between Christmas and New Year

 
Bring the family to Kongernes Jelling between Christmas and New Year.
 
In addition to the historic monument area, you can explore the exhibitions about Jelling in the Viking Age, see the great gold treasure from Vindelev, and have fun at our new mythological playground.

The experience center is open December 27th-30th at 11am to 3pm.

Free admission for everyone under 18.
Admission for adults is 60DKK.

Opening hours during the holidays

 

Spinderihallerne is closed during Christmas and the New Year - and will not open up for communities and events in the evenings until week 4 (from January 20th). 

The Libraries varies depending on location - but all are closed on the December 24th-26th and January 1st. You can at your local library check the opening hours; at their "åbningstider" you can check the weeks ahead at the top of the calendar. 

Vejle Municipality is closed December 24th-January 1st, both days included. 

For supermarkets you have to check your local supermarket's website - it will varies from chain to chain, but sometimes also from store to store within the same chain. They will post this on their website. 

NOTE for those that are open on Decemer 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and January 1st the opening hours will be shorter than the normal opening hours.
