The World of the Egtved Girl - opens June 6th
|
 |
|
Come to the opening celebration on Saturday, June 6 – and celebrate the brand-new museum.
Opening Celebration The Egtved Girl is a unique part of Danish history, and now you have the opportunity to follow in her footsteps. After nearly a year of construction, we are opening a completely new museum in the very landscape where she lived and was buried 3,500 years ago.
The World of the Egtved Girl is not a museum with walls and display cases. Here, the stories are turned inside out and unfolded in nature. Visitors are invited to walk, run, crawl, and climb through five experience zones that bring the Bronze Age and the story of the Egtved Girl to life.

June 5th - Grundlovsdag (Constitution Day)
Constitution Day is an annual national holiday celebrated on June 5, marking the adoption of the first Danish constitution with King Frederick VII’s signature on the Constitution of 1849 (“the June Constitution”).
In practice, and often explicitly, the day is viewed as a celebration of Danish democracy. It is marked in particular by political rallies and speeches across the country.
According to the Retail Act, the day is to be treated in the same manner as public holidays. Therefore you might experience that shops are closed even though you might not have a day off.
The Library is moving on May 30th - while working on creating Engen Kulturhus & Bibliotek - Vejle’s brand-new cultural center - the adult library at Spinderihallerne is moving to new premises about 50 meters from the library’s current location. (to create space for SDU Vejle).
